Chinese Folk Art Society, HKUSTSU, abbreviated as CFAS, with a history spanning 21 years. The activities organized by the club are deeply rooted in traditional Chinese culture, providing an engaging and dynamic learning and social platform for members from various countries and regions who are interested in Chinese culture. At the same time, it offers comprehensive and warm-hearted services to all members through its diverse range of activities. The Chinese Orchestra, HKUSTSU, also known as the HKUST Chinese Orchestra, was established in May 2000. The orchestra comprises undergraduate students, postgraduate students, alumni, and staff from various faculties, including the School of Engineering, the School of Science, and the School of Humanities and Social Science. HKUST Chinese Orchestra is dedicated to promoting musical exchange among its members through rehearsals and performances both on and off campus. The orchestra aims to celebrate and promote Chinese music culture, allowing the melodies of traditional Chinese music to resonate throughout the HKUST campus. It also serves as a space for students to take a break from their academic pressures.

The Drama Society of the HKUSTSU is a student-run organization dedicated to promoting theatre and performing arts on campus. Established in 1993, the society has a long history of producing high-quality theatrical productions, hosting workshops and events, and providing a platform for students to develop their artistic talents, creativity, collaboration skills and personal growths. The South Asian Students' Society (SASS) at HKUST is a student-led organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community for students with South Asian heritage while welcoming anyone interested in the region's rich cultures. The Band Society, HKUSTSU (香港科技大學學生會凝音社) is a vibrant student-led society dedicated to promoting band music—particularly guitar bands—among HKUST students. We serve as a platform for members to discover, share, and deepen their passion for band music, while encouraging the creation and performance of original compositions on campus. Through regular events, band shows, instrumental classes, and performances at university gatherings, our society fosters a supportive community that builds friendships and enhances members' musical skills and experiences.

Established in 1994, The University Choir, HKUSTSU, is dedicated to promote choral singing and elevating the musical standards of students across the university. Under the expert guidance of our Music Director and Conductor, Mr. Francis Mok, the choir has made significant strides in vocal technique, ensembleship and musicality. Our choir performs regularly throughout the year, with highlights including our Annual Performance, the Fall Semester Performance, various university events (such as the School Anthem recording, Information Days and alumni gala dinners), and international choral competitions. Notably, in 2026, we were awarded Third Place (Gold Award) at the 78th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, a testament to our efforts and dedication. Beyond rehearsals and performances, we host various social activities — such as our Orientation Day and Farewell Party — to foster strong bonds and friendships among our members.

The China Entrepreneur Network (CEN) is a university-based, student-run organization that shares the vision of its parent body, the China Social Innovation Foundation (CSIF). CEN aims to discover and develop social entrepreneurship talent and potential in university students, pursuing sustainable development and social innovation for a better future. By encouraging students to devise innovative solutions to real-world social development problems, CEN raises awareness of social responsibility and plants the seeds of social entrepreneurship in the young generation. As a network connecting entrepreneurs, academics, and students, CEN facilitates the sharing of information, resources, and inspiration to jointly seek innovative solutions. Through diverse activities, including competitions, forums, seminars, and lectures, CEN actively engages professionals and youth to exchange and explore ideas in social entrepreneurship. Inspired by our co-founder, Prof. Po Chi Wu, the CEN-HKUST Chapter was established in 2010. As the first and only chapter in Hong Kong, we play a critical role as a bridge between US and mainland chapters, leveraging Hong Kong's unique position in financing and promotion. Our chapter aims to convene, cultivate, and support passionate youth in social innovation and entrepreneurship, creating a vibrant network for students, scholars, and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and drive social change.

Christian Choir was officially established in March 2014 with its vision to equip its members, providing them with opportunities for sacred music cultivation, training, and service, and serving and mobilizing Christians at HKUST to witness and spread the Gospel.

Founded over 30 years, the Dance Society acts as one of the Sports Association affiliated with HKUST Student Union, uniting a group of students that share passion for dancing regardless of background, fostering teamwork and companionship among members, striving to enjoy the pleasure of dancing while completing every stage. We aim to attract more students to develop their interest towards dancing through different functions and event, providing different opportunities for members to showcase their enthusiasm towards dancing, illuminating their university life.

The HKUST Dodgeball Club was founded in 2017 and aims to increase students’ awareness and knowledge about dodgeball, a team sport with the aim of knocking out all opposing team members by hitting them with a ball. Members dedicated to improving their skills through training or demonstrate immense interest in the sport may be recruited as a University Team Member and represent the University in inter-university and external association competitions. Squash is an exhilarating, fast-paced sport that Forbes Magazine once rated the healthiest sport in the world due to its unparalleled cardiovascular benefits and full-body conditioning. The game is uniquely engaging because it takes place within an enclosed four-walled court, meaning the ball stays continuously in play to deliver a fluid, high-energy sport without the interruption of chasing stray balls. Squash Club runs every Tuesday and Thursday night from 19:00 to 20:00 during the regular semesters, and we welcome players from all levels, including beginners! We hold annual team recruitment events at the start of the Fall semester, where many of our beginner players have then moved on to the university squash team as well. Tchoukball is an indoor team sport, with seven team players on the court playing against the opponent team. The objective of the sport is to score points by throwing the ball to the frame located on both ends of the field by the attacking team player and bouncing outside the 'D' zone without being caught by the defending team. The Tchoukball Club, HKUSTSU, was founded in 2010. It is a young but energetic Club in HKUST. Outstanding Club Members will be recruited to be members of the HKUST Tchoukball Team and represent the University to compete in inter-varsity and local league competitions. We have our regular training every Tuesday, 1800 - 2000 Feel free to join us!!!

Have you ever seen the kung fu movie《Ip Man》? Themartial art used in the movie is Wing Chun, a traditional Southern Chinese Kung fu. This martial art is characterized by close-distance hand-to-hand combat. Based on the centerline concept, Wing Chun practitioners exert their energy through efficient body structures during combat, so that they can defend their opponent’s attack and strike back simultaneously. Our society will hold regular practice every week. We invite skillful Wing Chun master to teach martial art in UST campus. Depending on levels of members, the master offers training contents with various features, from basic body motions to combat simulation, with the explanation of skill principles. If you are interested in exploring the world of Chinese kung fu, don’t hesitate to join us!

The Business Students’ Union, HKUSTSU (hereafter BSU) is a student-run, non-political and non-profit-making student organization founded in 1991. The Computer Science and Engineering Students' Society, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Students' Union (香港科技大學學生會計算機科學及工程學系學生會), or CSESS, HKUSTSU, was established in 1991 as one of the earliest student societies founded at HKUST. CSESS, HKUSTSU aims to cultivate a sense of belonging within the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and serve as a communication channel between its members and other interest groups within the university. Welcome to the HKUST Taekwondo Club! Taekwondo is a well-known Korean martial art composed with the articulation of kicking and punching techniques. Our team is comprised of 2 sets of players ones who represent us in poomsae and the other in sparring. Poomsae is a sequence of taekwondo techniques linked together into a pattern of moves. While sparring is a dynamic and competitive combat between 2 opposing players. By engaging in our intensive training and practice, you could earn strong physique and join in our well-connected community. We are looking forward to having you join us and enjoy your time! Christian Fellowship was established in 1991. We are a group of Christians from diverse background. Here, you can engage in faith-based exchanges and have spiritual growth. The Muslim Society, HKUSTSU (香港科技大學學生會穆斯林會) is an active group dedicated to supporting Muslim students socially and spiritually through activities and initiatives. AIESEC is the world’s largest international youth-run organization, having branches in 110+ countries and territories all over the world. AIESEC in HKUST was established in 1993 being one of the branches under AIESEC in Hong Kong. We aim to activate youth leadership by facilitating young people to learn through practical experiences in challenging environments.

HKUST Cricket Club is the most successful university cricket team in Hong Kong, proudly holding the title of 3x Champions. We welcome players of all skill levels, whether you're brand new to the sport or an experienced cricketer looking for competitive play. Our weekly trainings take place every Saturday from 9am to 11am, led by a national level coach, giving members the chance to develop their skills in a supportive environment. Beyond training, we also compete against other universities in Hong Kong, offering members the opportunity to represent HKUST on the field. Whether you're looking to play casually for fun or aiming to try out for our competitive team, there's a place for you in our club.
